South Second closed to traffic due to water main break

WILMINGTON — Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has closed off two lanes of traffic downtown, due to a water main break.

The 200 block of South Second Street is closed while crews make an emergency repair, CFPUA noted in a release. It affects both lanes of traffic, though local residents that live in the block will be allowed access.

CFPUA instructs all drivers headed southbound to make a detour via South Third Street, around Orange and Ann streets; northbound travelers can use South Front Street. The closures will be in effect until the main is fixed.
