Early vote totals released in local races

The N.C. State Board of Elections has begun releasing vote counts in municipal elections across the state. Tallies for early votes are available online, and Election Day totals are not far out.

The New Hanover County Board of Elections began counting early votes Tuesday afternoon; 194 absentee-by-mail ballots were sent in, according to elections officials.

Of the three early voting sites around the county, the Senior Resource Center saw the most voters, at 4,161 since Oct. 14 when the window began. Following in second was the Northeast Library with 4,042 voters; the Cape Fear Community College throughput was 1,446 ballots during early voting, according to initial tallies.

Here are snippets of the early totals, which were released shortly after 7:30. These totals Do Not include ballots cast today.
