BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Brunswick County Schools is dropping its face-covering requirements, effective immediately.
The board of education made the decision Tuesday evening in its meeting. The mask mandate will go back into effect at an individual school if the campus reaches a positivity rate of 10%.
Masks are still required on school buses, per guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Also at the meeting, the board canceled classes on Nov. 12 for a “Day of Reflection and Wellness” and approved $1,500 bonuses for staff.
