Masks required inside Town of Oak Island facilities

OAK ISLAND — Now in effect, the Town of Oak Island will require masks or appropriate face coverings inside all of its town-owned facilities.

Facilities include:

  • Town Hall
  • Police & Fire Stations
  • Recreation Center
  • Community Building
  • Ocean Educations Center
  • Nature Center
  • Pier House (Tackle Shop)
  • Par 3 Golf Clubhouse
  • Public Services Buildings

Masks will be required of town staff, contracted service providers, and public visitors when inside town-owned buildings.

“This effort maintains a focus on the personal responsibility of visitors and staff to affect their own safety,” according to the town’s release. “The use of individual caution and preventative measures including mask-wearing, social distancing, and vaccination, are strongly encouraged.”

The town reminds customers any business they need to take care of through the town can be done so virtually, via phone or email, or through use of the Town Dropbox (SE 47th Street, in the gravel parking lot by the basketball court) as well.
