SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — New Hanover County Schools announced reduced Covid-19 restrictions Friday, including no more masks during outdoor recess and increased gathering sizes. The district is continuing to report its known Covid-19 cases to the public.
New Hanover County Schools saw 27 Covid-19 cases over the past week, according to the NHCS public online dashboard. Seventy-three people were directed to quarantine after being exposed to the virus at school.
Since Oct. 12, NHCS has recorded 953 positive cases total. Here is the breakdown for the week of Apr. 30:

Brunswick County Schools
Brunswick County Schools is reporting 18 active Covid-19 cases and 134 precautionary quarantines as of Friday afternoon on its online dashboard.
Since Aug. 21, the school system has recorded 459 positive cases overall.
