
NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A joint investigation between the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Task Force Unit has left one many behind bars.
Daniel Lee Floyd faces multiple drug trafficking charges and is being held with a $4.5-million bond in the New Hanover County Detention Center. His arrest follows an extensive investigation by the coordinating operatives of both departments, who seized significant illegal narcotics and other evidence related to drug trafficking.
According to the NHCSO, its vice and narcotics detectives seized 127 grams of cocaine (4 ounces) and a 0.9mm Glock handgun during a traffic stop. As well, the Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on Floyd’s residence in Goldsboro, leading to the seizure of 2 ounces of cocaine and five pounds, seven ounces of of marijuana, with more than $6,000 in cash.
Floyd faces multiple charges, including:
- 14 counts of Trafficking Cocaine
- PWISD Cocaine
- Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling for Drug Activity
- Other felony-related offenses
“We will continue to work relentlessly to dismantle drug networks that threaten public safety,” Sheriff McMahon of the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.
Wayne County Sheriff Larry Pierce thanked the local office for their efforts as well/
