Parking lot at Wrightsville Beach rec area under construction

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — Construction is underway at Wrightsville Beach’s rec area housing pickleball and tennis courts and part of new parking lots being paved. They will be closed intermittently from December through February.

The next phase of construction for five new pickleball courts and installation of lights for current courts involves improved parking. Reconfiguration and paving is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the park parking lot.

Visitors will utilize the field where the Farmers’ Market is typically held to park instead until construction is complete. Once the park parking lot is finished, work will begin on the lot adjacent to the Fran Russ Recreation Center and Town Hall.

The town anticipate completion by the end of February 2025, weather dependent.
