Around 8:25 p.m. on Oct. 31, a 2003-2007 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab truck was traveling north on the 100 block of Walker St. The driver struck a child but fled the scene.

The truck had a camper shell and according to video from police, the cab and bed on the driver’s side are mismatched. The police continue to investigate the incident and ask anyone with information contact the Burgaw Police Department at 910-259-4924 or Pender County Dispatch at 910-259-1515.
