WILMINGTON — A southbound lane on part of Carolina Beach Road will be temporarily closed Sunday, Sept. 22, and early Monday, Sept. 23, for water infrastructure repairs.
Starting at 5 p.m. Sunday, the righthand southbound lane of Carolina Beach Road between Northern Boulevard and Bell Street will be closed. Traffic will be shifted into the lefthand southbound lane.
Traffic will also be blocked in the 400 block of Southern Boulevard and in the eastbound lane of the 400 block of Central Boulevard.
The traffic shift will be in effect for approximately 12 hours while crews replace water valves in the area.
The shift will happen in conjunction with a precautionary boil water advisory for parts of Carolina Beach Road and the Sunset Park neighborhood.
