27 miles of roadway to undergo resurfacing in Pender County

PENDER COUNTY — The North Carolina Department of Transportation is planning to resurface multiple Pender County roadways by fall of 2025.

NCDOT has contracted ST Wooten Corp. out of Wilson, North Carolina, for $7.7 million. More than 27 miles, to include part of N.C. 53, and 10, and sections of secondary roads are to be worked on. It will provide a smoother ride for travelers.

Crews are slated to begin working on the project this spring, to be finished by late 2025.
