Man arrested for allegedly waving gun on Arboretum Drive

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department have made an arrest of a man who allegedly waved a gun in the 300 block of Arboretum Drive Friday.

The incident took place just after noon, according to WPD. Several calls were reported to 911 regarding the man. Officers on the scene were able to locate the suspect, 31-year-old Dimitri Smith, who was holding a gun.

He dropped the weapon, upon officers’ demand and was taken into custody. He faces charges including going armed to the terror of the public.

The investigation is ongoing.
