NEW HANOVER COUNTY — After three years with the county, a top leader has left her role effective Monday.

New Hanover County Health and Human Services Director Donna Fayko submitted a resignation letter, which a county spokesperson said is confidential per North Carolina statute and not subject to public release without her explicit consent.

Fayko was hired Oct. 6, 2020 and received six salary increases over the last three years. Five of them were market increases, one based on a pay study, and one was issued by the county manager as a “miscellaneous” 5% increase Sept. 7, 2021.

At the time of her departure, Fayko’s annual salary was $186,118.

Assistant county manager Tufanna Bradley will serve as interim health and human services director.
