Pender first responders in vehicle collision, treated for serious injuries

PENDER COUNTY — A motor vehicle collision on Highway 117 has resulted in serious injuries for area first responders.

Around 2 p.m. on Thursday, a Pender EMS and Fire unit was involved in a motor vehicle collision in the 2700 block of 117, according to a release from county officials. It resulted in multiple injuries on the scene.

Both EMS crew members involved were transported to Novant NHRMC to be treated for serious injuries.
