67-year-old arrested for indecent liberties with minor

PENDER COUNTY — A Hampstead man is in custody after communicating with a minor “for sexual purposes” according to the Pender County Sheriff’s Office.

David Michael Key, 67, was charged on Friday, July 13, with one count of felony indecent liberties with a child. His arrest was the result of a joint investigation with special agents of the Department of Homeland Security, according to a release.

Law enforcement were tipped off to allegations that Key had been communicating with sexual purposes with a 13-year-old female.

He was given a $25,000 secured bond.
