SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Residents have the opportunity to order free at-home Covid-19 tests through June 30.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services announced Wednesday a change to its Project Access COVID Test Program, that allows all state residents the chance to obtain free test kits, while supplies last. Once limited to specific zip codes, Covid-19 kits are available now to anyone for free online.
NCDHHS has already distributed 383,390 tests statewide.
“Access to free testing is expected to change with the end of the public health emergency, but partnering with Project ACT helps us continue to provide this access, especially to households who may have limited access to health care,” NCDHHS Division of Public Health Director Susan Kansagra said in a press release. “Testing quickly helps people to know when to stay home and when to seek treatment.”
