120-plus violations cited during weekend ‘Booze It and Lose It’

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department released its numbers for a weekend campaign aimed at transportation safety and keeping drunk-drivers off the road.

The State Highway Patrol’s St. Patrick’s Day Booze It and Lose It campaign took place last week. WPD released its results from stops on March 17, noting more than 120 violations were tracked.

The breakdown:

DWI: 7
Driving after consuming, under 21: 2
Driving with a revoked license: 17
Registration violation: 25
No insurance: 1
Drug charges: 7
Seatbelt violations and child safety restraint: 6
Concealed weapon: 1
Felony warrants served: 2
Other violations: 60
