NEW HANOVER COUNTY –– The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three suspects for their alleged involvement in a double homicide last month.

The July 24 homicides took place in the home of George Taylor III, chief operating officer of TRU Colors, a Wilmington brewery that employs active rival gang members.

Koredreese R. Tyson, 29, was killed in the shooting, apparently in his sleep. Tyson was a high-ranking member of Gangster Disciples. Another unnamed 21-year-old female was reportedly shot in the shoulder and was sleeping in the upstairs bedroom when a gunman started shooting in the dark. She called 911 just before 6 a.m. and told the dispatcher she could not identify the assailant.

Bri-yanna Williams, 21, was also killed in the early-morning incident. After the murders, the sheriff’s office announced a $3,000 reward for tips that may lead to arrests.

Last week, Tyson’s grave located on the city’s northside was set ablaze in the dark early morning hours. No charges have been filed but Wilmington Police Department is investigating.
