NEW HANOVER COUNTY – On Friday morning, the vice principal of Noble Middle School resigned from his position upon facing two charges for sexual offenses.
New Hanover County Sheriff’s Department reported that David Eugene Bostian, 59, was accused of having a years-long relationship with a former student in the early ’90s. After the alleged victim filed a report, Bostian was served warrants, arrested at the Detective Division and given a $150,000 unsecured bond. He was later released.
At 9:05 a.m., Wilmington police responded to a 911 call at his home at Tipton Court. He was found dead.
A spokesperson from New Hanover County Schools said Bostian was hired by the district in 1985. In addition to his administrative role at the schools, Bostian was a realtor at Intracoastal Realty.
This is a developing story; Port City Daily will have more details to release in a longer piece later today.
