Man dies after motorcycle accident at Riverlights roundabout earlier this week

WILMINGTON — A 35-year-old man has died two days after driving his motorcycle off a roundabout near the Riverlights community in south Wilmington.

The Wilmington Police Department has identified the man as Jason Bennet. According to the department, Bennet was wearing a helmet when he was ejected from his bike after running off River Road.

The accident occurred just before 4 p.m. on Monday. Bennet was taken to the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where on Monday he was listed as in stable condition.

Bennet died at the hospital on Wednesday morning.
