Reward now $6,000 for information leading to arrest of Wilmington murder suspect

WILMINGTON — Authorities are now offering $6,000 for information that leads to the arrest of Edward Demorris Huckabee, 38, who is wanted for the May 18 murder of Shawn Grady.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, its initial $1,000 reward is now being paired with $5,000 from an outside agency. WPD said the outside agency did not wish to be identified.

Grady was murdered on Monday, May 18; he was shot twice in the stomach and later died in the hospital from his injuries. Grady was celebrated for throwing community parties and his shoe-drive, gathering footwear for those in need.

WPD quickly arrested Andre Devaughn Huckabee, 43, for the murder, but are still looking for his brother, Edward.

Huckabee is considered armed and dangerous.
