WILMINGTON — Officers from the Wilmington Police Department (WPD) are looking for the driver of an abandoned white Jeep vehicle that had crashed into the side of the On Q Financial building on the corner of Military Cutoff Road and Wrightsville Avenue.

Employees arrived Monday morning to discover the vehicle, after which police were dispatched to the building located at 1613 Military Cutoff Road shortly before 9 a.m., according to a WPD release. The building is located just north of Wrightsville Avenue, several blocks south of Eastwood Road.

According to the original release, the vehicle had crashed into Glo Med Spa, which shares the building with On Q Financial. However, the crash was discovered to have occurred on the south side of the building, occupied by the offices of On Q Financial.

Officers estimated damages to exceed $15,000. A witness told police the driver fled on foot into a nearby wooded area, according to the release.

Officers have secured the Jeep owner’s information in the efforts of determining who was driving the vehicle. No injuries have been reported and no one was inside the building during the crash, the time of which is currently unclear.
