BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Two Leland men and a Wilmington man are under arrest for armed robbery after a manhunt by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Wilmington Police Department.
Dimetrius Terrell Parker, 18, of Wilmington, along with Zachery Johnson, 19, and Quinton Markee Sanders, 21, both of Leland, were arrested on numerous charges after an incident early Saturday morning.
According to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), a female caller alerted authorities that three men were attempted to rob two victims in front of her residence on the 1100 block of Dobson Street in Supply. At around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning, BCSO deputies were dispatched.
According to BSCO, one individual was detained at the residence, but two others fled into the woods.
Additional deputies, including BCSO’s K9 Unit responded. Because the county’s Air Unit was grounded for maintenance, the Wilmington Police Department (WPD) SABLE helicopter provided additional assistance.
A little over two and half hours later, the search was over with both suspects in custody; BCSO reported there were no serious injuries related to the incident.
Brunswick County Sheriff John Ingram expressed his gratitude to the WPD, and made a specific point of recognizing the “outstanding work” of First Sgt. Justin Brown and his K9 partner Caro.
