WILMINGTON—A 17-year-old male was shot last night after an altercation, and the police are still in search of a suspect.
Around 12:10 a.m., officers responded to two shots fired around the 600 block of Kelly Road. Police say a group of friends were on a patio when an altercation broke out. The suspect pulled a gun and shot the victim.
Neither the victim, 17-year-old Christopher Hallman, nor the suspect, live at the Kelly Road location.
The suspect fled the scene in what witnesses described as a red or burgundy four-door sedan. Witnesses also described the suspect as a 5 feet 10 inches tall, skinny, and white. Witnesses said there was a short, heavyset female in the car with him.
Hallman’s injuries are not life threatening.
