7 places to see live music in the Wilmington area

Don’t feel like going all the way to Raleigh or Charlotte to listen to your favorite bands? Check out one of these venues to hear live music right in your backyard:

Brooklyn Arts Center

A 19th century church-turned-event venue, the Brooklyn Arts Center is one of the most beautiful places to see live music in town. Whether hosting a rock legend or a showcase of local singer-songwriters, the venue–located at 516 North Front Street–won’t disappoint. For more info, you can visit its Facebook page.

Ogden Tap Room

With a full menu, forty beers on tap, and live music on the deck every Thursday-Saturday, the Ogden Tap Room has plenty of options. You can visit it at 7324 Market Street and view food and drink specials, upcoming performances, and more on its Facebook page.

Reel Cafe

Every Friday and Saturday, Downtown Wilmington staple the Reel Cafe (located at 100 South Front Street) features live music in the courtyard and karaoke in the sports bar. Blue Eyed Muse

The recently-renovated Blue Eyed Muse houses 750 people, making it one of Wilmington’s larger venues. Located at 208 Market Street, the Muse’s lineup for the next few months includes Badfish, Tift Merritt, Sister Hazel, Blue October, and more. Palm Room

Since 1955, the Palm Room has been a popular spot for live music in Wrightsville Beach. It is located next to Johnny Mercer’s Pier at 11 East Salisbury Street. For information on upcoming acts, visit its Facebook page.

The Whiskey

Primely located at 1 South Front St., The Whiskey showcases live music almost every night from 8 p.m. – 2 a.m. It offers the quality sound of a larger venue in a more intimate space. Liberty Tavern

Wilmington residents in the Ogden/Porter’s Neck area need not go all the way downtown to hear live music! Liberty Tavern at 7976 Market Street features live music every Wednesday through Sunday in a beautiful outdoor space. If you’re coming before 8 p.m., bring the kids along!
