Wilmington Police seeking suspect in overnight shooting that left one man dead

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect in a fatal overnight shooting.

According to Wilmington Police Department spokeswoman Linda Rawley, officers responded to a Shotspotter alert in the 1300 block of Dawson Street just before 2 a.m. Friday morning. Upon arrival, officers found 57-year-old Wallace Dailey had been fatally shot.

He was transported by EMS to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, and pronounced dead a short time later. No further information is available at this time.
