WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — With only one day left until the filing period begins for candidates in New Hanover County, Pat Bradford has announced her intention of running for Wrightsville Beach Board of Alderman.
There are currently two open seats on the Wrightsville Beach Board of Alderman, Henry Miller and Lisa Weeks both have terms expiring in December of this year.
Bradford serves as editor and publisher of Wrightsville Beach Magazine, and is the founder of Lumina News, however, she recently gave up her stake in the publication.
“Actively working in the news, there was a conflict of interest; a journalist cannot ethically cover themselves. With the newspaper ownership conflict removed, and my work schedule lightened as a result, I am ready to serve my town as an alderman,” she said in a press release.
Bradford has lived in Wrightsville Beach for almost 20 years.
