Area residents will get the chance to cast their ballots ahead of the 2015 Municipal Elections on Nov. 3.
One-stop early voting begins Thursday and will run until Saturday, Oct. 31 for residents throughout the Cape Fear region. According to the New Hanover County Board of Elections, early voting is much like Election Day, however voters are required to compete and sign an absentee request before voting.
New Hanover County residents can find a One-Stop voting location at the board of elections in the New Hanover County Government Center at 127 S. College Road. The location is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 22-33 and Oct. 26-30. On Saturday, Oct. 31, the voting site is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents in Brunswick County can vote at the board of elections office at 75 Stamp Act Drive NE in Bolivia. The One-Stop voting site is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 22-23 and Oct. 26-30. Additional hours are offered on Saturday, Oct. 31 between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
If a first-time voter aims to vote at a One-Stop voting site, and has not provided either a driver’s license number or the last 4 digits of a Social Security number to the county board of elections upon initial registration, the voter will be required to provide one of the following:
- A current and valid photo identification or
- A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, or other government document showing both name and address
