The man who once said it’s “good policy” to like the people who like you will be among friends when he performs in the Port City next spring.
Humorist, bestselling author and North Carolina native David Sedaris will be returning to the campus of UNC-Wilmington–his first visit in more than a decade–on Sunday, April 17, 2016, to speak at Kenan Auditorium.
UNCW announced this most recent addition to its upcoming performing arts season–which includes country singer Ricky Skaggs and tap dancing extraordinaire Savion Glover–on Tuesday.
Sedaris, who grew up in Raleigh, has penned numerous collections of narrative and autobiographical essays, including “Me Talk Pretty One Day” and “When You Are Engulfed in Flames.” He is also a regular contributor to “This American Life” and The New Yorker and a frequent visitor on the late-night talk show circuit.
Season tickets for the 2015-16 UNCW Presents are already available, and individual tickets to see Sedaris will go on sale Saturday, Aug. 15., with pricing to be announced at a later date.
