The public is invited to see the initial design concept for the new skate park that is being added to Ogden Park.
The meeting, set for 6:30 p.m. April 30 at the New Hanover County Executive Development Center, will be an opportunity for citizens to give feedback on the design, according to a news release from New Hanover County.
The lead designer from Grindline Skateparks, of Seattle, Washington, will be available via Skype that evening. Grindline has designed “some of the most exciting, innovative and popular skate parks in the U.S.,” the county said in a release.

Residents are welcome to give feedback on design options for the skate park, which is intended to immediately fill a need for hundreds of avid skaters, especially those in Wrightsville Beach and the northern parts of the county.
The closest skate park to Ogden is the Greenfield Grind Skatepark at Greenfield Lake in Wilmington, more than 9 miles away. Another skate park is located farther away in Carolina Beach.
The county is planning a 10,000- to 12,000-square-foot concrete skate park at Ogden Park, near the intersection of Gordon Road and Market Street. Construction is slated to start this summer, with completion projected this fall.
