The City of Wilmington is sharing feedback received from a series of public meetings and strategy sessions on the development of its long-term growth plan, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Plan.

More than 1,000 citizens attended the meetings last year or provided input online as part of the development effort. The results show priorities that will be used to shape the plan, which is intended to address population growth and demographic changes that are expected to alter the city over the next 20 years.
After analyzing the input received, the city developed two reports that are part of a series of documents to be developed over the next several months. Once complete, those documents will make up the overall plan, the city said in a notice.
The Foundations Report is a summary of the public input process and the feedback collected. The Growth Factors Report provides a look at the things that helped Wilmington become what it is today, along with future growth projections and an analysis of the type of development currently in place in Wilmington.
Citizens are encouraged to review the reports and offer feedback here. The reports can be viewed via this link.
