Wilmington police are investigating a shooting that injured a 28-year-old man Thursday.
According to New Hanover County Emergency Services, a caller reported a shooting at Sixth and Nixon streets at about 1:30 p.m.
A short time after the call, the police department received information that an injured victim was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle, according to police spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay.
Details about the victim’s injuries were not released by the police department, but a spokeswoman said the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
The investigation is ongoing.
