A Wilmington man was charged with first-degree murder Thrusday in connection with the death of a 20-year-old man in December 2013.
Reginald Eugene Laughlin, 30, was arrested at his home on Princess Place Drive at about 11 a.m. Laughlin is charged in the shooting death of Drayshawn Dowd, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Linda Rawley.
Police found Dowd, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, in the front yard of a home in the 4400 block of McClelland Drive on Dec. 7, 2013, Rawley said.

According to the N.C. Department of Corrections, Laughlin has been convicted of eight felonies and 15 misdemeanors. Laughlin has multiple pending charges in New Hanover County District Court including possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.
Laughlin made his first appearance in district court Friday morning when he waived his right to a court-appointed attorney. He was ordered to be held at the New Hanover County jail without bond.
Laughlin is scheduled to make his next court appearance on May 15.
