Four arrested in connection with armed robbery and assault in Burgaw

Detectives with the Pender County Sheriff’s Office have arrested four individuals in connection with an armed robbery and assault in Burgaw.

Brandon Trevor Simpson, 28, Jacob Leamon Rivenbark, 20, Brandon Scott Drinkwater, 22, and Brandy Nichole Elkins, 19, were arrested Tuesday, according to Pender County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Jamie Ezzell.

All four suspects have been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, conspire to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault by pointing a gun and assault with a deadly weapon.

The incident occurred Monday on Whitestocking Road in Burgaw, Ezzell said. The victim reported the four suspects lured him to their residence, assaulted him and stole his money. The suspects also forced him to have crack cocaine delivered to the residence, Ezzell said.

Simpson, of 192 Whitestocking Road; Drinkwater, of 100 Whitestocking Road; and Elkins, also of 100 Whitestocking Road, are being held at the Pender County Jail under a $180,000 secured bond.

Rivenbark, of 296 Sawyer Lane in Wallace, has outstanding warrants out of Duplin County and is being held under a $190,000 secured bond.
