Detectives with the Boiling Spring Lakes Police Department have arrested and charged two men with promoting prostitution of a minor in an ongoing investigation that began in November 2012.
According to Boiling Spring Lakes Police Chief Brad Shirley, detectives arrested Kyle Bradley Wolfe, 20, of Robin Road, Boiling Spring Lakes, at his home Saturday evening. He was charged with two counts of promoting prostitution of a minor.
Shirley said Shawn Christopher Conley, 20, of North Twin Lakes Drive, Southport, was also charged May 2 with two counts of promoting prostitution of a minor for his alleged role in connection with this case. Conley was charged with the prostitution offense while at the Brunswick County jail, where he was also being held on a first-degree burglary charge from April 7.
The prostitution investigation, which began in November 2012, involves advertisements for prostitution over the Internet via social media websites, Shirley said.
“It’s a complicated investigation,” Shirley said about the case.

Shirley said the investigation continues and police expect to make more arrests in the future.
“We are working closely with the District Attorney’s office on this case,” Shirley said.
As of noon on Monday, Wolfe and Conley were being held at the Brunswick County Detention Center. Conley was placed under a $226,000 secured bond. Wolfe was placed under a $100,000 secured bond.
