Santa and friends return to Mayfaire to celebrate the holidays

WILMINGTON — With December right around the corner, the holidays are quickly approaching and Mayfaire is offering plenty of opportunites for celebrating.

On Dec. 1, Santa will arrive at 6837 Market St at 11 a.m. Kids can share their Christmas wishes with jolly ole St. Nick through Dec. 24. He’ll be available 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

On Wednesdays, Dec. 7, 14 and 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Santa Claus will have a special guest for photo ops. The first Wednesday kicks off as collegiate night with Sammy C. Hawk from UNCW on site. Other friends include Elsa, Anna and Cindy Lou Who.

Dogs and cats are welcome as well, and visits are free. A variety of photo packages are available for purchase; reserve a spot online.

Also available will be kids’ story time at Barnes and Noble featuring classic holiday tales told by Santa’s helpers Dec. 3 through Dec. 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. Guests receive 30% off the purchase of whatever book is being read that day.
