CFCC to host Veterans Day ceremony, free haircuts

WILMINGTON — CFCC’s Division of Veterans Services will hold a ceremony to honor former service members next Friday, Nov. 11

The ceremony will include remarks from Veteran Navy Veteran and CFCC Veterans Services Coordinator Jason Bocchino, CFCC President Jim Morton, U.S. Army National Guard member and CFCC student James Nicholas, U.S. Navy Veteran, New Hanover County Commissioner and CFCC Board of Trustees member Jonathan Barfield and retired U.S. Navy Captain Wilbur Jones.

The event will begin 11 a.m. at Tabitha’s Courtyard; it will move to Union Station Room 170 pending inclement weather.

After the ceremony, veterans are invited to eat lunch for free at the Bob Philpott Veterans Center in Union Station.

Also taking place the same day, the CFCC Barber School on Walnut Street will offer free haircuts for veterans from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and after the ceremony from noon to 3:30 p.m.
