Remediation school opens satellite location

WILMINGTON — An area institution that helps first through eighth graders with learning disabilities or attention deficit disorder is expanding operations.

The Hill School of Wilmington has opened a satellite location in southern New Hanover County, after 12 years of increased enrollment at its flagship location in Burnt Mill Business Park. Interest has ticked up, according to a press release, for families seeking “unique academic remediation” geared toward students with learning differences.

Outfitted with three classrooms to accommodate up to 12 additional students, the school will be located at 4008 South College Road. Enrolled pupils receive direct instruction in reading, written language, and math for three hours daily before attending their public, private, or home school the other half of the day.
