22K pounds of Healthy Choice beef product recalled

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced a recall from Valley International Cold Storage Acquisition, LLC. It affects 22,061 pounds of frozen beef products the Texas company noted was due to misbranding.

Consumer complaints that Healthy Choice Power Bowls Korean-Style Beef cartons contained chicken — specifically, a chicken sausage and pepper ingredient. It also contained milk, a known allergen not declared on the product label.

The 9.25-ounce frozen packages were produced on July 22, 2022 and have the lot code “5246220320” and a “best if used by” date of April 14, 2023. Items contain the establishment number “34622” on the end flap of the carton and were shipped nationwide.           

No adverse reactions have been reported due to consumption. Anyone with the product should throw it away or return to the place of purchase.
