Thursday fire displaces 2 adults, 2 children

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — The New Hanover County Fire and Rescue was called to the scene of a residential fire Thursday afternoon that left two children and two adults displaced.

The tenet of the home was mowing the lawn and called 911 upon the fire discovery. At 5:30 p.m. the rescue responded to a structure fire at 7724 Myrtle Grove Rd., with smoke billowing from the roof.

They were able to locate and contain the flames to one bedroom and a portion of the attic. No injuries were sustained. It is being listed as an accidental fire as the New Hanover County Fire Marshal’s Office investigates it.

Carolina Beach Fire Department and Wilmington Fire Department also helped.
