Police investigating downtown shooting, one man injured

WILMINGTON — According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers responded to shots fired early Saturday morning and found a male at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound.

Around 1:18 a.m. law enforcement arrived at North 2nd and Princess streets. The victim was located on a sidewalk and taken to Novant Health NHRMC with non-life threatening injuries.

WPD Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is directed to call 910-343-3609 to submit a tip or use the anonymous Tip 411 app.
