WILMINGTON — Officers made an arrest in the shooting of two females early Sunday.
Just before 3 a.m., according to the Wilmington Police Department, law enforcement heard gunshots downtown near Princess and Water streets. They approached on foot and found a 21-year-old female had been shot in a drive-by.
“Officers immediately began rendering first aid to the victim,” the release noted.
WPD said a second female — also inflicted by a gunshot wound — arrived at NHRMC by personal vehicle.
Both women suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Police were able to identify the shooter with the help of one of the victims, witnesses, and data from the WPD real-time crime center. Officers conducted a felony vehicle stop in the 500 block of N. 30th St. and arrested 21-year-old Tatyana Zyterria Green.
Green is being held without bond at the NHCSO Detention Center, after being charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, shooting from a vehicle, and discharging a firearm in city limits.
