CAROLINA BEACH — People traveling or living on Pleasure Island can expect to see fire hydrants being flushed this week.
According to town officials, the Carolina Beach Fire Department will begin testing and hydrants throughout town, a process conducted annually. The purpose is to ensure water flow is adequate and function appropriate, as the hydrants are integral to the department’s ability to extinguish fires.
Officials noted in a press release there will be no interruption with water — in neither service nor pressure. It is normal to see temporary discoloration, the release confirmed.
Concerns can be addressed with the CBFD by calling (910) 458-2985.
