Man charged in Saturday Galley Lane shooting

Jonathan Casey Rashad Burgess, 33, is being charged following a shooting Saturday that left one dead, one critically injured.

WILMINGTON — Jonathan Casey Rashad Burgess, 33, has been arrested following a May 7 shooting that left one dead and one critically injured.

Wilmington Police Department responded to shots fired in the 700 block of Galley Lane shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, two victims were discovered with gunshot wounds. Alexandra Faith Gillikin, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nicholas Raspino, 30, was taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center and is in critical condition.

Burgess is being charged with first degree murder, attempted murder, and firing into an occupied vehicle. He is being held at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center without bond.
