Arrest made in connection to mini-mart shooting

WILMINGTON — An arrest was made in connection to a shooting that took place in January, according to a release from the Wilmington Police Department.

Nineteen-year-old Justin Maurice Hall was detained by the Concord Police Department on Apr. 19. Hall was transported back to the Port City to be held in the New Hanover County Detention Center.

WPD connected Hall to the shooting in February, almost a month after the incident sent one person to the hospital. The department issued a warrant for his arrest.

The shooting took place Jan. 21, when officers responded to shots fired at the Prince Mini-Mart at 3002 Princess Place Dr. Upon arrival, they found one person injured, who was then transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. A survey of the mart confirmed interior damage as well.

Hall has been charged with:

  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill or Inflict Serious Injury
  • Discharge Firearm Enclosure
  • Obtain Property by False Pretense
  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
  • Discharge Firearm in a Reckless Manner
