WILMINGTON —A 42-year-old man is dead after being hit by a pickup truck on Market Street Sunday night, according to Wilmington police.
The driver pulled over and call 911 after the crash, which occurred around 10 p.m. in the 6200 block.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim lying on the side of the roadway. He died from his injuries on the scene.
“The victim may have been walking down the center lane or was crossing the street at the time of the crash,” according to a Wilmington Police Department news release.
As of Monday, WPD’s traffic unit is still investigating, and the driver of the vehicle has not been charged.
