CFPUA lifts boil water advisory in Hawthorne area

WILMINGTON — The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority lifted a precautionary boil water advisory.

The advisory went into effect Friday, Jan. 21, for customers in the Hawthorne Road and Oleander Drive areas. Crews made emergency repairs to a water valve.

Lab staff have tested the water to ensure its safety for around 300 affected customers, located by Oleander Drive, Hawthorne Road/Forest Hills Drive, Country Club Road, Wrightsville Avenue and residents of Oleander Court Condominiums.
