Opera House Theatre Company postpones ‘Footloose,’ cancels ‘Annie’ due to Covid-19

WILMINGTON — Opera House Theatre Company is postponing “Footloose” until February after cast members tested positive for Covid-19.

It was supposed to be the venue’s first full-scale production since the start of the pandemic.

“Due to the rising numbers in our area along with positive cases within our own cast prior to our opening, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our run of Footloose until February in the interest of keeping our cast, crew, and audience members safe,” the Opera House shared on Facebook.

The Opera House also announced it is canceling this year’s production of “Annie” because of “circumstances outside of our control.”

Ticket holders for Footloose and/or for Annie can visit the Thalian Box Office, starting Wednesday, for rearrangements. Season ticket holders will be contacted to coordinate changing seats over.
