Tuesday night fire has police searching for suspected arsonist

39-year-old Luis Alberto Rebolledo Sanchez is wanted for felony arson and misdemeanor child abuse.

WILMINGTON — Tuesday evening WPD responded to a mobile-home fire that led to a search for a suspected arsonist.

Around 6:47 p.m. police were called to a fire at a mobile home in the 6500 block of Greenville Loop Road. All occupants of the home were safe and evacuated without injuries.

Officers began to search the area for 39-year-old Luis Alberto Rebolledo Sanchez of Wilmington. Sanchez was last seen in a long-sleeved, yellow construction shirt, blue jeans and a hat. He carried a backpack and also had scratches on his hand and face.


Police said Sanchez is considered dangerous and asks the public to contact 9-1-1- immediately if he is seen. Warrants for his arrest are forthcoming, as Sanchez is wanted for felony arson and misdemeanor child abuse.
