Police investigate homicide on River Road

WILMINGTON — Early Friday morning, Wilmington Police Department officers were answering a call about an overdose and discovered a 33-year-old dead from a gunshot wound.

The victim, from Bladen County, was found shot in the 4200 block of River Road around 4:45 a.m., Nov. 5., and succumbed to the injuries at the scene. Police say the homicide is an isolated incident and not a threat to the public at large.
