Applications open for Work on Wilmington 2022 projects

WILMINGTON — Work on Wilmington (WOW) has taken place every spring since 2006 and welcomes volunteer hands to help with jobs that create a better community. Projects include anything from painting a fence to landscaping to cleaning up area nonprofits, local governmental organizations, and schools in New Hanover County.

The event for 2022 will get underway Apr. 23 and welcomes over 1,000 volunteers to complete around 30 projects in half a day (about four hours). The Greater Wilmington Chamber Foundation’s Leadership Wilmington development program oversees WOW and is accepting applications for nonreligious nonprofits, governmental organizations, or schools in New Hanover County system that have a project in mind.

Applications are open and will be accepted through Monday, Oct. 18: www.wilmingtonchamber.org/form/view/24095. WOW will follow all Covid-19 mandates and protocols as recommended by public health during the service day.
